This movie was based on a classic naval combat game that we can actually download in the internet. It’s a video game similarly related to the concept of the movie but a little different in a way that Battleship was a boring game.

The story is all about an international fleet of ships that are having their Naval war games exercise but accidentally they come across an alien armada or resting ground and from there, intense battle over land, sea and air started versus the aliens.

The movie was not really impressive. This is most probably one of the noisiest movies you will ever see, soundtracked by the loud and endless gargle of engine room groans, with additional noise from the hydraulically-powered armour of the aliens. The script is definitely written by someone with no military knowledge or not inclined to military or experience and that the actions, conversations, interaction and way of thinking with all that are supposed to be military personnel, is a non sense.

Taylor Kitsch did a good job in this movie aside from the fact that he is really good looking, he is also comfortable in roles that make fun of his character and personality, and I can say that he is an all round decent actor.

In my own opinion, this movie is just like a low level transformer movie because the movie was long, loud, ludicrous and mindlessly enjoyable. Battleship is one of the dullest alien invasion movies, featuring uninteresting attacks of aliens and not even blowing things up in new exciting ways.

I think if you are really a fan of visual effects of a good action you can still appreciate this movie. The acting of Rihanna was impressive but not great. I was seriously not impressed by this movie, after seeing the well filmed Hunger Games and The Avengers; I was not very pleased at all.
